The Ottawa County Parks Foundation’s health and wellness initiative raises funds to support programs and events in Ottawa County Parks that are focused on promoting community well-being. Funding for this initiative primarily comes from sponsors.

This initiative supports programs such as Step it Up!, the Grand Explorers’ Trail Race, Visit Every Park Challenge, among other programs and events in Ottawa County Parks.

Step it Up! is a free program designed to help residents of all fitness levels stay active and explore new parks. Participants are encouraged to join an Ottawa County Parks leader on 8 weekly walks and other group activities in the spring to get/stay healthy! In 2025, 900 participants enrolled in the Step it Up! program. Learn more, https://miottawa.org/parks/stepitup/.
